Analysis of sublittoral microbenthic communities along environmental gradient at Clifton beach Karachi Pakistan

Description: This study focuses on assessing the composition and diversity of microbenthic communities along an environmental gradient at Clifton Beach, Karachi, Pakistan. Sampling will be conducted at multiple sites representing varying levels of anthropogenic influence, including areas near urban centers and less-impacted zones. Sediment samples will be collected, and microbenthic organisms will be identified and quantified using established methodologies. Additionally, environmental parameters such as water quality, sediment characteristics, and anthropogenic activities will be recorded to understand their impact on microbenthic communities

Socio-Economic Benefits: The study aims to provide valuable insights into the ecological dynamics of sublittoral habitats and their relationship with anthropogenic stressors. Furthermore, the findings will contribute to the assessment of progress towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 14 (Life Below Water) and SDG 15 (Life on Land), by informing conservation and management strategies for coastal biodiversity.
