JUW Central Library
The Jinnah University for Women (JUW) Library has played a pivotal role in supporting academic excellence and research since the university's inception. Established with the vision of providing a well-equipped learning resource center, the library has grown significantly over the years to meet the evolving needs of students, faculty, and researchers.
Initially, in 1985 the library started as a modest collection of books catering to a limited number of disciplines. Over time, it expanded into a fully computerized and resourceful academic hub, housing a vast collection of more than 62,000 books, including reference materials, encyclopedias, handbooks, periodicals, research journals, and digital resources.
The Abdul Qadeer Khan Central Library, the main library at JUW, serves as the knowledge hub of the university. In addition to the central library, various departments have established their own seminar libraries, offering subject-specific resources.
To enhance accessibility, the library introduced Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) and HEC Digital Library services, in-house digital library services, allowing users to explore and access a wealth of academic information. The library continues to evolve, incorporating the latest technological advancements to facilitate research and learning.
Today, the JUW Library stands as a pillar of academic support, dedicated to fostering a culture of knowledge, innovation, and research excellence for its students and faculty.
Various sections of the library design and conduct their respective operations in alignment with strategic objectives, ensuring the continuous development of their day-to-day activities and other projects.
