Dr. Alveena Zehra

Dr. Alveena Zehra, a dedicated faculty member from our Department of Biotechnology, recently represented Pakistan at the prestigious 17th Asia-Pacific Biosafety Association (A-PBA) Conference in Manila, Philippines. Supported by a travel grant from Health Security Partners (HSP), Dr. Zehra attended the conference, successfully completing the IATA Training on the Transport of Infectious Substances and Biological Materials led by experts from Sandia National Laboratories, USA. In addition, Dr. Zehra’s poster, titled “Assessing Gender Dynamics in the Biosafety Profession: Experiences of Women in Pakistan,” won an award along with a cash prize of 2000 PhP!

Her remarkable achievements reflect her dedication to empowering women in biosafety and promoting global biosafety standards. We are incredibly proud of her contributions and the honor she has brought to our university!
