On 30th and 31st Oct Jinnah University for women organized two days Sports Fiesta. This event was sponsored by “Due Beauty Cream” and “ECS”. In this Sports Fiesta 4 Faculties participated Arts, Science, BBA and Pharmacy. In Sports Fiesta 8 games were played like Chess, Scrabble, Table Tennis, taekwondo, Volley Ball, Dodge Ball, Tug of war and Cricket. Dodge Ball was introduced for the 1st time. On the very first day inauguration ceremony was held at 11:00am in which recitation of Quran and Naat took place, Engineer Syed Mehfooz ul Haq (Senior Vice President Sindh Olympic Club) was the Chief Guest. Anum Qamrani (women Boxer) and Sawaira Pasha (Sports Anchor) were also guests of the event. More than 200 students participated in all the games. Chess, Table Tennis, volley ball and Dodge Ball were played on the very first day. Final of Chess took place between Jawairia (BBA) and Sehrish (Science) in which Sehrish defeated Jawairia and entitled herself as a winner. Final of Dodge Ball took place for the very first time and students participated in this game with keen interest. The final match took place between Science and Pharmacy. In which Pharmacy won the final in the captaincy of Sawaira Hanif and Science failed to chase the score. Interesting session of taekwondo was also held. In which students performed with full thrill. Table tennis was also held in which Sehrish Sarwar of Science won the final by her brilliant game and beated Romaisa Asim of Science in the final with interesting margin. Meanwhile Romaisa Asim (Science) got 2nd position and Mehvish of (BBA) secured 3rd position. On the very next day Scrabble game was held between both of pharmacy players Manal Zaman and Sumaiya Riaz in which Manal Zaman won the final match with her mind blowing game. Cricket final was held between BBA and Arts. In which Mehvish Alam was a captain of (BBA) and Hina parveen of (Arts).Arts won the toss and elected to bat first. Aqsa Fatima and Maria shakeel played good inning with good partnership. Arts set a target of 57 runs. While BBA failed to score 57 runs. While Aqsa Fatima of Arts did splendid batting and titled as Women of the Match. In the end of the event gifts and award ceremony took place. In which Moin khan (Former Captain of Pakistan Cricket Team) Mirza Iqbal Baig (Sports Anchor) and Pk Pakistan were guests. In the end of the event Moin khan said Sports should be an important part of the educational institutes. It promotes talent and shows that women are also equally talented in this field.
