Introduction
The 3rd Healthcare Expo 2026, held at the Karachi Expo Centre, was organized by Jinnah University for Women (JUW), Dr. Tasneem’s Institute of Health & Technology (DTIOH), and Badar Expo under the theme “Ethics, Equity and Emerging Frontiers.” The Department of Eastern Medicine, JUW, actively participated in the event with a team of final-year BEMS students and House Officers (JUBIC Alumni).Their active involvement provided valuable hands-on learning experiences, enhancing their clinical knowledge, communication skills, teamwork, leadership abilities, and understanding of contemporary healthcare practices while fostering professional and personal growth.
The expo also provided an excellent entrepreneurial platform for BEMS students, who showcased and sold their herbal and wellness products to visitors. This experience enabled them to interact directly with consumers, promote evidence-based Eastern Medicine products, and gain practical knowledge of product marketing, customer communication, and healthcare entrepreneurship while generating income from their sales.

Event Highlights
Day 1
The opening day focused on Clinical Aesthetics, Regenerative Medicine, Dentistry, and Hair Care. Renowned experts shared the latest developments and emerging trends in modern healthcare. JUW student volunteers efficiently managed event logistics, welcomed participants, coordinated speaker sessions, and facilitated activities at the JUBIC Alumni Stall while engaging with healthcare professionals and visitors. Students also explored innovative healthcare technologies, interacted with industry experts, and gained valuable exposure to current trends in clinical practice and healthcare management.
Day 2
The second day focused on Energy-Based Devices, Integrative Medicine, and Lifestyle Wellness. A major highlight was the panel discussion on “Integrating Traditional Wisdom with Lifestyle Medicine and Modern Healthcare for a Healthier Future,” emphasizing holistic, patient-centered, and evidence-based healthcare. The day also included hands-on workshops on Leech Therapy, Acupuncture, Nutool Therapy, and Soap Making, conducted by JUW faculty members. Student volunteers actively assisted in workshop coordination, participant management, and promotion of the JUBIC Alumni Stall. These practical sessions allowed students to strengthen their clinical and technical skills while learning the safe application of traditional therapeutic modalities and their integration with modern healthcare practices.
Day 3
The final day highlighted Women’s Empowerment, Entrepreneurship, Health Education, and Professional Development, including the official launch of HERBIZ to promote women-led healthcare innovation and entrepreneurship. BEMS students continued to display and market their herbal products, providing them with hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, product presentation, customer interaction, and business development. At the closing ceremony, the students of the Department of Eastern Medicine were awarded Certificates of Appreciation in recognition of their dedicated services throughout the expo. Faculty members from the Department of Eastern Medicine were honored with Guest of Honour Shields for their valuable contributions and continuous support.
Conclusion
The 3rd Healthcare Expo 2026 provided an outstanding platform for academic learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, professional networking, innovation, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. The active participation of the Department of Eastern Medicine, Jinnah University for Women, through its faculty members, student volunteers, and the JUBIC Alumni Stall reflected the university’s commitment to experiential learning and excellence in healthcare education. The opportunity for BEMS students to showcase and sell their products, interact with healthcare professionals, and participate in expert-led scientific sessions and practical workshops significantly enhanced their clinical knowledge, entrepreneurial mindset, communication skills, and professional development, making the event a valuable and enriching learning experience.
