The annual Sports Fiesta of Jinnah University for Women was held on the 6th and 7th of March, 2024 in which Students of all the departments in all 5 faculties participated in six different games. These included both single player (Chess, Scrabble, Table Tennis) and team (Cricket, throwball, tug of war) games.
The event was sponsored by Due Beauty products and ECS group. The opening ceremony was held on the 6th march. The event started with the tilawat of Quran Pak followed by Naat e Rasool. The players displayed a march past followed by the oath taking ceremony, the national anthem and Taekwondo display. After the opening ceremony, the sporting events were formally inaugurated.
On 7th march, the closing ceremony of the sports Fiesta was held in the Muhammad Uzair Auditorium. The closing ceremony was honored by the appearance of the chief guest, Miss Wania Wajih Uddin. She was presented an appreciation token by the sports department. The officials of Due Beauty products also attended the closing ceremony and showed their support and encouragement for women sports.
Medals and trophies were presented to the winners. The faculty of Sciences secured first position in Cricket, Throwball and Table Tennis, hence won the general trophy as well. The faculty of Social sciences earned the winning spots in Tug of War and Chess while Scrabble was taken over by the faculty of BBA. Various news channels and media houses also reported the event. All the players displayed utmost sportsmanship and discipline throughout the Fiesta and contributed towards its success.
