On April 19th, 2025, Jinnah University for Women hosted a vibrant and meaningful event titled “Threads of Unity: Celebrating Women and Culture.” The program aimed to honour cultural diversity and highlight the significant role of women in society. The occasion brought together a large and enthusiastic audience, including students, alumni, and faculty members.
The event began with the name of Allah (SWT). Following this spiritual opening, the Chancellor of Jinnah University for women, Mr. Wajeeh Uddin Ahmed, delivered a heartfelt welcome address. He spoke about the university’s commitment to promoting cultural appreciation and empowering women through education, setting a thoughtful and inspiring tone for the rest of the event.
What followed was a vibrant showcase of cultural performances, national songs, and motivational speeches. Students lit up the stage with traditional dances representing different regions of Pakistan, expressing the beauty of unity in diversity. The performances not only entertained but also stirred pride and admiration for Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.
The highlight of the event was the presence of Syed Mustafa Kamal, Federal Minister of Health, who honoured the gathering as the Chief Guest. In his concluding address, he praised the university’s efforts in creating a platform that celebrates both women and culture. His inspiring words encouraged students to embrace their roots, value diversity, and pursue their goals with confidence and resilience.
The program drew a tremendous turnout, with around 800 to 1000 students, over 50 alumni, and faculty members filling the venue with energy and enthusiasm. The collective participation reflected the strong sense of community at JUW and its dedication to holistic education.
In every sense, Threads of Unity was more than just a cultural program—it was a powerful celebration of identity, heritage, and womanhood. The event left a lasting impression on everyone present, reminding us all that unity, respect, and cultural pride are the threads that truly bind us together.
