Elemental Air – Air monitoring unit

Description: Air quality has become a critical concern in modern society due to the increasing impact of anthropogenic activities on atmospheric composition. In this chemistry project, we present the design and implementation of an Arduino-based Air Quality Index (AQI) monitoring device employing MQ135 and MQ2 gas sensors. These sensors are specifically chosen for their ability to detect a range of gases, including organic and inorganic pollutants. Major air pollutants include carbon monoxide (CO), ammonia (NH3), nitric oxide (NO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), ozone (O3), particulate matter (PM), sulphur dioxide (SO2) and volatile organic compounds (VOC).

Socio-Economic Benefits: The AIR MONITORING DEVICE can help to make understanding of the effects of air quality on environment and health of living things and can provide knowledge to ordinary people about the importance of the quality of air they inhale. Air Monitoring Device can be launched as an aid not only for everyday life but also to help environmental chemists to study air with more precision and new ways.
