Guest Lecture by Mr. Javed Jabbar on “Multiple Dimensions of Media: Paradoxes and Potentials” at Jinnah University for Women
On October 29, 2024, Jinnah University for Women’s Department of Media Studies welcomed distinguished media expert Mr. Javed Jabbar, who delivered an insightful guest lecture on the topic, “Multiple Dimensions of Media: Paradoxes and Potentials.” Known for his significant contributions as a former federal minister of information and broadcasting, writer, and intellectual, Mr. Jabbar captivated the audience with his deep understanding of media’s evolving role and its impact on society. The event, organized with the intent to bridge theoretical learning with practical media challenges, was attended by students and faculty.
In his address, Mr. Jabbar delved into the dual role of media as both a powerful agent of positive change and a potential source of misinformation. He explored how media shapes public opinion, influences culture, and plays a critical role in modern politics.
